Did you know....not all family beach portrait sessions actually occur ON the beach?
We did a family beach session for the 'B' family two years ago. They came to OBX all the way from Wisconsin! Having just adopted their second child from China, little 'J', they used their time in the Outer Banks to bond and attach. I thought Bethany and Phil were brilliant to plan a vacation specifically for this very important time for their family. They also planned dates for each of them with the individual children, something I can only imagine means so much when you have five children. Bethany told me at that time they were just beginning the process of adopting again.
So here they are, two years later, now a family of eight. They now have a teenager, and decided it was time for some more family bonding in OBX. I was thrilled when Bethany reached out to let me know they were returning.
It wasn't easy to schedule - I had a single date available during their two week stay. Oh how I prayed it wouldn't rain! The weather has really not played well with my already packed schedule! :(
Bethany planned the most adorable wardrobe. Vintage boardwalk was the theme, and she pulled it off brilliantly! So of course, we headed to a boardwalk for the session. ;) While it didn't rain (thank goodness!), we had lots of clouds all day, and it was a bit chilly. These sweet kids didn't complain at all! They did decide to wait for their treat for pulling off the session so nicely...Sweet Frog would wait until it warms up a bit. :)
Bethany knew she wanted individual portraits of each family member as well as some of them as a couple. Parents don't often want to be in images other than groups! So I decided that we would open this post with the above sweet image of Bethany and Phil. I love it!
And can you believe these precious little ones?! (Be sure to click to see and scroll through the full size images.)
Thank you so much, Bethany and Phil, for sharing your beautiful family with us once again! Stacey and I had such a lovely time!
